Privacy Policy for Prpls and Mom Pools

Prpl Technologies, LLC ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our websites and mobile applications, including Prpls and Mom Pools ("Services"). By accessing or using our Services, you agree to the terms of this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Name, email, phone number, and other profile details
• Optional: profile photo, skills, task requests, reviews, and messages (Prpls)
• Carpool schedules, ride requests, and messages (Mom Pools)
• Payment information (handled securely by Stripe, Apple App Store, or Google Play; we never store your card numbers — we receive only subscription status, plan, and transaction identifiers)

Children's Information — Mom Pools (provided by parents)

• Mom Pools is used by parents and guardians to coordinate school carpools. As a parent or guardian, you may provide information about your children (such as name, age, school, and ride schedule). This information is provided with your consent as the parent/guardian and is shared only with the carpool members you choose. Children do not use the app themselves. Parents can review or delete their children's information at any time in the app or by contacting us.

Location Data

• Prpls: we collect location data such as GPS or city to show nearby tasks.
• Mom Pools: during an active ride, we collect and share your real-time location (including in the background, with a visible notification) with the members of your carpool so they can see live route and ETA. You can stop sharing at any time by ending the ride. Location is not collected outside active rides except for map features you use.
• You may disable location access in your device settings, but some features may not work properly.

Verification & Background Check Data (Optional)

• Users may choose to complete a background check via Checkr, a third-party provider. Background check fees are paid directly to Checkr.
• Documents you upload for verification (e.g., driver's license) may be processed with OCR (text extraction) to verify them.
• We only store your verification status, not full reports.
• Face ID / biometric checks are performed on your device only and are never transmitted to us.

Automatically Collected Information

• Device type, operating system, browser info
• Usage activity, clicks, crash logs, and similar analytics
• Push notification tokens
• Cookies and tracking tools such as Google Analytics (anonymized)

2. How We Use Your Information

• Match you with task opportunities (Prpls) or coordinate carpools and driver matching (Mom Pools)
• Operate trust, verification, and reward systems
• Process secure payments and subscriptions
• Send notifications and provide support
• Monitor for fraud, abuse, or safety risks
• Improve features and analyze performance

3. Sharing and Disclosure of Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share data when necessary to operate the platform:

• With Stripe, Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for payment and subscription processing
• With Checkr if you opt into background checks
• With Firebase, Google Maps, analytics tools, or service providers
• With your carpool members (Mom Pools): ride details you create — pickup/dropoff, schedule, driver and child first names, and live location during rides — are shared with the members of your carpool as needed to coordinate rides
• With legal authorities if legally required

4. Cookies and Analytics

We use basic cookies and analytics tools such as Google Analytics to understand usage and improve performance. These tools may collect anonymized technical information. By using our website or app, you consent to this.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

We keep your data as long as your account is active or as needed to comply with legal obligations. You can delete your account and associated data directly in the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by contacting hello@getprpl.com.

6. Children's Privacy

Prpls is not intended for individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from minors on Prpls.

Mom Pools is intended for parents and guardians; children do not use the app themselves. Information about children (e.g., name, age, ride schedule) is provided by their parent or guardian, which constitutes verifiable parental consent under COPPA. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. Parents can review or delete their children's information at any time in the app or by contacting us.

7. Data Security

We use encryption, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls to protect your data. No system is 100 percent secure, but we follow industry best practices.

8. International Users

We currently serve users within the United States only. If you access the platform from another country, your data may be transferred to and processed in the U.S.

9. Legal Compliance Statement

We comply with U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not and will not sell your personal information.

10. Your Rights Under Applicable Laws

If you are a resident of the United States, including California, you may have the right to:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal data
• Know what we collect and how we use it
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information
